Our fourth Regency Edit box takes you to the season in Bath.
'Dress was her passion. She had a most harmless delight in being fine; and our heroine's entree into life could not take place till after three or four days had been spent in learning what was mostly worn, and her chaperone was provided with a dress of the newest fashion.'
- Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey -
For the wealthy in Regency times, the season and extended visits to Bath and London were part of the social year. The slimmer dresses of the Regency style meant that ladies now carried little pouches called reticules (also known as ridicules), rather than the pockets worn in the past.
The little pouches would contain among other things calling cards and money.
I thought it would be fun to include a simple, pretty little handmade drawstring pouch in the box along with a few fabrics for your slow stitching.
YOUR BOX WILL CONTAIN:
100g skein
3 x 20g mini skeins
Small handmade drawstring pouch (no boxed bottom)
Small slow stitch bundle
5 x 3g hand dyed silk threads
A fragrant tealight
A 125g French soap
