We are so very excited to be offering a 24 Day Advent this year!
Deep in Foxglove Wood there is a gathering…..
The starlings chattered animatedly in a large gathering in Arthur the blackbird’s tree. Arthur was on his perch looking somewhat dejected and wondering what he had let himself in for. Had he really agreed to let the starlings help him organise the Christmas party this year? He had. The cacophony of sound and the blur of feathers in front of him were testament to this.
Calling the group to order, he looked towards Filbert who was the most senior of the starling flock who lived in Foxglove Wood.
‘Shall we begin, Filbert?’ Arthur suggested as at least thirty scruffy starlings nudged each other to get a good position on the branches. A flurry of suggestions and ideas were immediately thrown into the cold morning air on this crisp December morning.
It’s going to be a long morning, thought Arthur as he rapped his conductor’s baton on the tree to gain order again...

This is a gorgeous box containing 24 individually wrapped and numbered parcels each containing a 3g hand dyed thread skein.
There is A Very Merry Foxglove Christmas 24 Day Yarn Advent 2025 available with hand dyed minis for the knitter and crocheter - please see separate listing.

Each little parcel will contain a short narrative that over the period of the advent will tell a story.
Each 3g thread skein will be wrapped in tissue paper and then placed along with the narrative into a little fabric pouch made by Sherry.
The advent also comes with a box pouch.
There will be a flurry of little extras in with your advent.
The threads will be on our BFL/Silk base - shown at the end of this listing.
The advent will begin shipping early in October 2025 to allow time for it to reach you before you begin opening it on December 1st. The parcels will take you through to December 24th. There is the option to add on two simple patterns for you to stitch, a needle book and drawstring bag made by Sherry, and a small fabric bundle for your slow stitching.

The colours will be muted and gentle, reflecting the life of the animals in Foxglove Wood with splashes of colour to reflect the narrative. The parcels will be beautifully presented for you, so that your December is made all the more special.
Some of our favourite characters- Arthur the blackbird, the starling flock, Copperfield the rabbit, Edward the Hare, and Howard the wren will be making an appearance in the narrative, as well as some new friends.

Your advents will be shipped using Tracked 24 in the UK, and via Royal Mail International Tracked for the rest of the world.

A little note about packaging... we take great care to ensure that our packaging is as environmentally friendly as we can make it while ensuring that your purchase arrives with you in perfect condition. Our tissue paper in the box is fully recyclable. Our stickers are also printed on recycled paper. The packaging in the box is fully recyclable. We use eco tape in our packaging. We also sometimes use eco sellotape that is plant based, contains no plastic and is fully compostable. The packing bag if used is fully recyclable, as is the gift box. Any bubble wrap that we use to protect your box is also recyclable, but why not reuse it?

The price of postage and packaging has been calculated on current Royal Mail prices. Should there be a significant increase in postage charges, there may be a small extra charge although we expect this to be unlikely.
