Deep in Foxglove Wood and in the nearby Foxglove Cottage, Christmas preparations are well underway. Our little family in the cottage, nestled close to the woods, love the works of Charles Dickens and will often sit together around the inglenook of an evening, and listen to tales read aloud from their favourite books.
These tales have been overheard by the animals of the woodland. Our little rabbit family live in Dickens Burrow, and Bessie and Bennie have even named their little ones after characters from the novels of Charles Dickens... Copperfield, Estella, Amy and Pip.
Snow is falling and carols are being hummed. Christmas cards are being written and cakes are being baked...
Up at the cottage, join Joe, his wife Beth and their three children Tommy, Florence and baby Alfie - along with the animals of Foxglove Wood - as they find themselves having a very Dickensian Christmas!

A DICKENSIAN YULETIDE - SHERRY IRIS YARN ADVENT 2023
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A PRE ORDER - the advents will begin shipping in late September/ early October 2023.

You will receive 24 x 20g minis on our Sherry Iris Sock base. Each mini will be individually wrapped in tissue paper and will be presented in a numbered cotton fabric bag containing a short narrative. This year we are choosing some beautiful cottons that, as always, can be later reused in a stitchy project.
There will also be a sock set - 100g & 20g mini - perfect for your Christmas Eve cast on.
A hand embroidered drawstring project bag with boxed bottom will also be included in this box.
There will be a few extras along the way to make the advent extra special, including something handmade by me and a couple of A6 prints to illustrate the story from Chris @the.untrodden.ways
There will also be two simple embroideries for you to stitch on the theme of the story.
The idea of the advent is that you take a few moments each day from 1st December to the 24th December to pour yourself a cup of tea (or a mulled wine..) and to open our yarny parcel, read the narrative and enjoy a little festive, peaceful time before the frantic business of December resumes.
The colours of the advent will be a surprise for you but you can expect soft and moody colourways reflecting the animals, with gentle bursts of colour for the Christmas season.

Your advents will be shipped using Tracked 24 in the UK, and via Royal Mail International Tracked to the rest of the world.
There will be the option to upgrade UK shipping should you choose, providing full compensation for your parcel.

A little note about packaging...we take great care to ensure that our packaging is as environmentally friendly as we can make it while ensuring that your purchase arrives with you in perfect condition. Our tissue paper in the box is printed with soy based inks on FSC certified paper and is fully compostable, recyclable and made from recycled materials. Our stickers are also printed on recycled paper. The packaging in the box is fully recyclable. The eco sellotape that we use is plant based, contains no plastic and is fully compostable. The packing bag is fully recyclable as is the gift box. The bubble wrap that we use to protect your box is also recyclable, but why not reuse it?

We cannot be held responsible for your parcel once it is in the hands of the postal services.
