We are so excited to introduce our latest Country Diaries box!
No.4 - A Nightingale in the Hedgerow
Our subject - the beautiful nightingale, whose song has inspired poets and musicians.
The colours of the box will be caramels, delicate grey, a medley of greens and touches of pink.
For our fourth Country Diaries - A Nightingale in the Hedgerow, we will be looking at the elusive nightingale, its hauntingly beautiful song now so rarely heard, and examining the bird in its habitat. We will be showing the beauty of the bird in yarn whilst also looking at the hedgerows - blackthorn, hawthorn and cow parsley
Country Diaries - A Nightingale in the Hedgerow will include the following:
- 100g skein
- 6 x 20g minis
- A box pouch
- Something to inspire your journalling
- Some fabric for your stitching
The above will come packaged in a box and will be the inspiration for becoming more at one with nature.
For 2024, we are putting together some very special boxes for you running throughout the year. Nature is at the heart of everything Chris and I do. Teaching ourselves and learning more about our countryside is something that we are passionate about.
Curating special boxes for you is our favourite thing to do.
With beautifully hand dyed skeins and minis, handmade accessories for your crafting, and lovely bits and pieces for your journalling and stitching.
Following on from the success of our Nature Journal boxes of 2023, for 2024 we are creating our new Country Diaries boxes, building on the previous content to create boxes that will inspire your knitting or crochet as well as your stitching and journalling.
This year, Chris and I will be keeping our written nature journals - and I will be once again stitching on a nature journal. I so loved sitting and stitching every day on my journal and so I'm going to do so again in 2024. I'd love you to join in.
I love to note down what I see in nature, making observations and simple drawings, while embellishing the pages. Chris keeps his nature journal differently to me, preferring photography, more detailed sketches and poetry.
The Country Diaries boxes will sit alongside
the Selvedge Chronicles Stitch Club as well as new embroideries that we plan to launch and they will compliment each other.
Country Diaries - A Nightingale in the Hedgerow will start shipping late April 2024.
